A brutal night, an excellent car count, competitive racing on the speedway. This is what opening night turned out to be at Linda's. Due  to the coldness of the night, victory lane videos were not taken. In the 270cc micro class, Ryan Smith ran away with the 270 feature after battling Pete Skias for the lead. Richie Hartman was 3rd. In the 600 feature, Josh Dalrymple lead for 23 laps only to be passed by Tim Buckwalter on lap 24.  Jasen Geesaman won his 1st Charger feature of the season from the pole starting position. In the new boys on the block, Eric Whitby won the initial regular show in the Xcel Modifieds at Linda's Speedway. This class had a ton of cars competing. Using a backup camera till mine gets back from the shop I videoed the 270 and Xcel mod heats without sound. Starting in the 600 Micros the sound came to life.                                                                                                                          Price $15

Jesse Maurer held off Ryan Smith to win the 270cc Micro feature. Mike Dicely wins the Super 600 feature starting from the pole. This race will be made up May 20 2011.                                                                                                                                     Price $18

6/3
I didn't attend this show so Frank Fabricius took the Video. Winners were Ed Kenderdine (270cc), Evan Krautwald (125cc), Scott Godbrecht (Legend Cars), Ryan Suchon (600cc Mods). Highlights were a mammoth crash in the 270cc which took out half the field. It was a typical 125cc race. For some reason the Keystone Legends looked more racy than normal. It was an excellent show. RJ Smith was in victory lane , but Ryan Suchon was listed as the winner which means Smith was DQed for some reason.         Price $18

6/10

Who said that Nick Skias forgot how to win? The defending champion lead the entire 270cc Feature from the pole to win his first 2011 feature. Kevin Steele lead from the pole to win the 600 feature , but had to hold off Jimmy Brookens and Ryan Greth for his first win this year, not an easy job. Andy Ressler won the 600 modified feature from pole to checker. The slingshot feature was won by Brett Beiber in Paul Lotier's car from the pole position. In the Chargers, Jasen Geesaman took the lead from the pole and later was DQ'ed for spinning Troy Hostetter. Harold Smith eventually ended up winning the thrilling race.     Price $18

6/17
Mike Rutherford was the class of the field as he came from 6th starting spot to walk away with the 270 Feature. Paul Maxcy won his Ist ever 600 feature as he beat Brett Peters to the checker. Maxcy was in the Rich McKay car and will have many more victories. Jeromy Guistwite battled all comers to win the First Xcel Modified feature of the year at Linda's. Mike Glass won the Slingshot Tour race but had to battle Shannon Smith for the win. Smith passed Glass twice , only to have a caution come out.  Price $18

Pete Skias started outside pole and too charge of the 270 feature for all 25 laps, while Kyle Newirk won the 125cc feature over Bradley Brown. Next weeks show will be better because of the Linda's handicapping.       Price $18

7/8                Rained out

7/29/2011
A pleasant day compared to what we had to put up with the last weeks. Eric Whitby won feature # 3 from 5th spot in the Xcel Modified Feature. Tonight was a slingshot tour race featuring a 30 lap feature.  A nice field of slingers saw Simon Egan win his First Linda's Feature which is hard to believe. Egan has wins at all the area tracks. Rob Pajauis looked like he was running away from the field in the 270 feature. A caution comes out and Richie Hartman takes advantage of the caution to win the feature. Dane Tobias flipped in the feature. Jimmy Brookens won the 600 feature from the pole and had to hold off the field to win. Josh Michael won the charger feature from 5th starting spot. The new track is becoming a one groove speedway.                       Price $18

8/5/2011

You make the call, Dave Grube was the first driver over the finish line, but Evan Krautwald was in Victory Lane. A slight nudge while passing in turn 4 the last lap DQ'ed Grube. This was without a doubt the most exciting race of the evening. If you watched Pocono, Johnston and K Busch should have been DQ'ed and Weren"t. What happened to "Rubbing racing"July has been good to Josh Stoyer as he captured his second 270 feature of the month driving the Viper House Car. Brett Bieber started on the pole and won his third feature in the Slinger Warehouse car. Kasey Ernst won the Xcel Modified feature as he beat out a bunch of local racers headed by Richie Hitzler. Tim Bauer beat the Racing Rochelles to win the Keystone Legends Feature.                 Price $18

In the most exciting race of the evening Brett Peters led the whole 600 feature only to be passed at the checker by Jimmy Brookens. This was a win by inches and Brett Peters must be complimented on his sportsmanship. Eric Whitby led from the pole to the checker to win the Xcel Modifieds. Brian Derr brought an ailing car to the Charger checker, his first of the year. A great night of racing.    Price $18

Next day the results were Beiber, Heiber and Glass as 1ST and #RD place were DQ'ed for what we don't know. In the Charger feature, it was Nick Ruhl getting the Checker.   Price $18

9/30

10/7

Ryan Kunkle proved he was worthy of being the Linda's Point Champion as he won the 600 feature. Terry Schaeffer proved that RTS means Race Tested Superior as he ran away with the Super 600 Feature and sets himself as a National Open favorite. In the "Terrible 2-strokes" Jeff Hartman had to battle Jason Swavely for the 270 Micro win. Chris Smith found his way back to Victory Lane to win the Charger feature after going winless for a couple years. The Chargers who finished had a top 10 finish. 4/2/2010  Opening Date The Steve Buch Memorial
If this is any indication of what 2010 is all about, Bring it on. This was the warmest opening day i can remember as a lot of spectators didn't wear coats. Six 270cc heats and 4 consies while the 600cc had 4 heats and 2 consies to start the new year. This was truely a GOOD Friday. Lots of 3-wide racing and at times the racing got pretty dicey. Flips caught on this action packed evening were Kenny Harris and Tyler Ross in a double flip, Ryan Smith, and Brandon Bucher. This will show why his nickname is "Wildchild". Mark Yoder took the 125cc feature in his "Orange Streak"  as he came home first. Richie Hartman ran away with the 270cc Feature.  Finally Heath Hehnly rode the "Cookemoblie" home to first place. This night was a real tribute to Steve Buch, Former great announcer at Linda's.   This is Hehnly's first Linda's Feature victory along with car owner Sonny Cook.                              Price  $18

4/9/2010

What a change, we went from the middle of summer to the middle of winter.Hot action on a bitter cold night. Considering the weather, we had a good car count. Good clean racing got us over at a reasonable time. In the Charger feature we had a traffic jam which wipe out approx half  the field. Winners were Richie Hartman (his 2nd, 270 Micros), Jake Murphy ( 600 Micros), Kyle Heiber ( slingshot 50 lapper), and Jasen Geesaman (Charger 20 lapper). Hope it warms up next week.          Price $18

4/23/2010
Lots of great racing featuring competitive heats and huge car counts. The Slingshot Tour brought in a lot of drivers who do not race here every week.  In the 600 feature Jake Murphy and Shane Lewis battled for the lead till the half way mark. Out of nowhere Brock Zearfoss passed both for the lead and the win. Terry Schaeffer and Josh Dalrymple finished out the top 5. 5/28/2010       Memorial Day Extravaganza

Umpiring a District 11 Softball game caused me to be late tonight missing the three 270cc heats. We have all the Xcel, 600cc Micro, and Charger heats. Robert Crawford took the 270cc Micro feature from the pole for his 2nd feature win of the year. Tyler Bartik lead the Xcel 600 feature to pick up the win with Nick Mady second. We almost had a flip in the Xcel consi as a car hit the Uke Tire and was thrown back out on the track on top of another car.  Robert Crawford tried for a double but had to settle 3rd as Ryan Wilson took the 600cc Micro feature, his 4th of the year. Jasen Geesaman wins feature number 3 from the seventh starting spot as he picked off position by position. Cost of this DVD will be $15.

7/2/2010                      Pa 600 Speedweeks

Thank God I don't have to watch another Speedweeks race till next year. Linda's weekly handicapped shows are more interesting than this show. There is no need for double heats with the same competitors in each heat. The 600 a-main was over before it started with Mike Rutherford on the outside pole. Brock Zearfoss took the early lead until he broke giving Rutherford the lead. Mike held on for the win being pressured by Timmy Buckwalter. In the 270 feature Richie Hartman lead from the pole to win. He is now qualified for the National Open. The best race of the evening was the Manufactures Chassis Feature. At the checker Jason Swavely took his 2nd 270 Feature win of the season over point leader Richie Hartman. Heath Hehnly lead the majority of the 600 feature only to have Ryan Wilson pass him for the victory. Wilson was in the Mike Dicely House car. Could Dicely have found a regular driver for that car?         The points battle  was between Ross Perchak and Nick Skias in the 270cc division.Ross Perchak gets caught in a 1st lap crash and was eliminated. Nick Skias has to move up and did to become the 2010 Linda's Point Champion. This is his first Linda's championship and with age in his favor the first of more in the future. Lost in the action was Richie Hartman passing Mike Boyer on the last lap to win the feature. Ryan Wilson won the war, while Pete  Skias won the Battle passing Mark Ludwig just past halfway for the win in the 600 Micro class. Although Pete has a bunch of Linda's Victories, this was Gary Hunter's first win at Linda's. Wilson is the Linda's 2010 point champion. The First Bill Hess Memorial was won by Ryan Higgs leading all 50 laps from the pole. The Lebanon Valley 50 was won by Gary Heiber followed by Shannon Smith. I did not care for the Pit Stop Challenge because I thought it spoiled a good race., although it did provide comedy relief. Why were only the top 10 cars in the challenge? Put them all in and give ba person in the back a chance to improve his position. Price $20
