Thanks for coming to Kutztown on my birthday. More people should have been there. Anyone who didn't go missed a great show on a hot day. The Xcel Sportsman feature was won by Ryan Kunkle, the present point leader. Kunkle started in the second row. Tim Buckwalter won the 600 feature in the Hyper House car. To win Timmy had to battle Shane Lewis side by side for many laps. Both drivers ran a good race. Tommy Kunsman won the 270 feature, his 3rd straight week of winning a feature at various tracks. Joe Nemeth broke thru for a slingshot feature win. Great going guys. Price $18

Tim Buckwalter won his second straight feature in the wingless 600's in the Hyper House Car. It seems to be a good match. 8/16/11 Micro Sprint Qualifying Day
Pete Knappenberger probably won the biggest race of his life as he beat Shannon Smith (2010 National Champion) to win the Kutztown Nationals Slingshot division feature. The last points night saw Gary Heiber win the Point Championship. This was the only feature run tonight as the rest of the competition consisted of Time Trials for the 270's and 600's; a double set of heats for 270's and 600 Micros. The final event was the Kutztown Challenge for the Slingers. Simon Egan won the event beating Shannon Smith in what looks like an awfully small margin.
8/17/11 Micro Sprint Feature day
A beautiful evening was topped off with intense competition. It can't get any better than this. The Jr Slingers showed up and Tyler Johnson beat Chris Kurtz to the finish line for the win. Matt McAnally pulled off the surprise of the year as he won the 270 Micro feature. He Beat Ryan Smith, Ross Perchak, Richie Hartman, and a host of other stars foe the Nationals win. Steady Ryan Smith won the 600 Fair nationals as he beat Tim Buckwalter and Jay Hartman for the win. Lots of memories were made tonight.
8/18 Xcel Chassis and Quad Day
Xcel 600 Modifieds had George Loux visit victory lane as he beat Alec Bartholomew and Nick Mady . Tyler Ross won the Xcel Sportsman race in George Loux's car. Nate "the Great from Penn State" Christman won the Celebrity Race as he beat out Doug Manmiller. In the Outlaw Quad race Daniel Schumaker beat out an allstar field of 19 other racers. The feature didn't take as long as the start did. They had a Turn 4 flip and provider exciting action. If you missed the Fairgrounds Speedway this year , Shame on You. Put Kutztown on your list to view a show and you will come back again. THIS YEAR going to every show would have cost $72. That is the price for 2 Thunder on the Hill shows at Grandview.
See you at the RTS Flea Market in September and the 1st Annual Flemington Kart Reunion in November
